The Institute of Development Management (IDM) and the Institute of Directors Lesotho (IOD) signed a memorandum of understanding in Maseru today, marking the beginning of a partnership aimed at promoting good governance and leadership development.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, IOD Chief Executive Officer, ‘Malehlohonolo Mahase, said the partnership is founded on the belief that directors responsible for managing businesses should serve as role models of good governance.
Representing the Chairperson of the IDM Governing Board, Kapa Motlamelle described the agreement as a significant milestone. He said it reflects the board’s commitment to nurturing visionary leaders who contribute to national development through practical skills as well as education.
Officially closing the event, the Principal Secretary in the Ministry of Education and Training, Rats’iu Majara, stressed the need for educational programmes that respond to current realities. He noted that many young people struggle to secure employment after completing their studies because they pursue courses that do not align with the demands of the job market.
