admin The Ministry of Home Affairs will begin recruiting permanent staff as part of efforts to curb corruption and restore public confidence in its services.
Speaking at a press conference this week, Minister of Home Affairs Vuyisoa Tseka said the decision follows a series of corruption cases involving ministry officials.
She described the Ministry of Home Affairs as one of the country’s most critical institutions after the security agencies, saying it should adopt the same rigorous recruitment procedures used by those institutions.
Minister Tseka said all permanent employees recruited by the ministry will undergo a vetting process before being appointed to ensure the integrity and credibility of its workforce.
Although she did not disclose the number of vacancies or the recruitment timeline, she said the move away from temporary appointments is intended to strengthen accountability and minimize opportunities for misconduct at service delivery centres.
The minister said further details on the recruitment process and vetting criteria will be announced in due course.
