The “Help Nnete Heal” Foundation says the condition of Nnete, the boy who was severely attacked by dogs belonging to former Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) Commissioner, Mr Ts’oeu Petlane, is very encouraging, although he remains in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) in South Africa.
According to the fund, Nnete continues to recover well, and his condition is stable while he receives specialized medical care. It says although he is still unable to speak, he is now able to communicate by writing with his hands, which is an encouraging milestone in his recovery journey.
The fund says doctors continue to care for him, while the cost of his emergency medical treatment has now exceeded M800,000. It says this amount does not yet include the reconstructive facial surgeries and rehabilitation treatment that he will still require.
The fund further says Nnete’s recovery will require greater support than was initially expected and has encouraged the public to continue with donations, prayers and sharing his story to give him the best possible chance of recovery.
