The Ministry of Public Service, in collaboration with the International Labour Organization (ILO), is hosting a two-day training workshop on negotiation skills for Ministers, Principal Secretaries, Deputy Principal Secretaries, and other government executives.
Officially opening the workshop, Prime Minister Samuel Matekane expressed his appreciation and gratitude to the ILO for its continued support in strengthening labour relations in Lesotho, as well as for its guidance in the successful establishment of the Public Service Coordinating Bargaining Council (PSCBC).
However, the Prime Minister noted that a short training programme cannot resolve all challenges. He expressed hope that by the end of the workshop, participants, particularly Ministers, will have a solid understanding of the negotiation process, including how to prepare for negotiations, the essential skills and behaviors of effective negotiators, and how to conduct effective meetings.
The workshop commenced today and will conclude tomorrow.
