From the Mohale FM bulletin dated 23.09.2026.
The Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunisation, Gavi, is set to provide Lesotho with more than five million US dollars, equivalent to over 81 million maloti, to support the country’s immunisation programme from 2026 to 2030.
This follows a courtesy call by a Gavi delegation led by Senior Country Manager Jonna Jeurlink to WHO Representative in Lesotho, Dr Innocent Nuwagira, in Maseru on Tuesday.
The meeting focused on advancing the Gavi 6.0 grant application and ensuring that immunisation services reach communities, including those in hard-to-reach areas.
WHO and UNICEF have reaffirmed their commitment to working with Gavi, the Government of Lesotho and other partners to strengthen immunisation services and expand access to life-saving vaccines.
