Formula 1 has arrived in Madrid for the inaugural Spanish Grand Prix at the new Madring circuit, with teams preparing for a weekend that could reshape the championship fight.
SuperSport reports that the 5.4-kilometre hybrid venue combines public roads with purpose-built sections and features the heavily banked La Monumental corner. The race is the 14th round of the 2026 season and marks the Spanish Grand Prix’s return to Madrid for the first time since 1981.
Mercedes rookie Kimi Antonelli enters the weekend with momentum after winning at Monza from 19th on the grid, while Red Bull and Ferrari are also expected to challenge on an unfamiliar circuit where every team is working with limited historical data.
Qualifying takes place on Saturday, with the race scheduled for Sunday, 13 September.
