FNCO Leribe to convene stakeholders’ meeting on food and nutrition

The Food and Nutrition Coordinating Office in Leribe will tomorrow convene a stakeholders’ meeting at the District Administration Offices in Hlotse.

The FNCO is mandated to coordinate all sectors within the district working towards improved nutrition and sustainable development.

The Food and Nutrition Coordinating Officer for Leribe, Limakatso Koae, said the meeting aims to review programmes, projects and all activities related to food and nutrition in the district. Ms Koae indicated that discussions will focus on key concerns including malnutrition and stunting, as well as challenges and positive impacts arising from projects implemented across the district.

She added that stakeholders will also exchange guidance and strategies to ensure the dissemination of accurate and relevant information to the public. She said feedback and findings from various partners play a critical role in guiding the office to address challenges effectively and strengthen collaboration.

Stakeholders expected to attend include representatives from the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Agriculture, Food Security and Nutrition, the Ministry of Education and Training, the Disaster Management Authority, National Security Services, the Lesotho News Agency, World Vision Lesotho and the Lesotho Correctional Services, among others.

Ms Koae explained that such meetings are held monthly, depending on pressing issues affecting the district that require collective discussion.
