FNB Lesotho Apologizes Over Delayed Debit Transactions

First National Bank Lesotho (FNB) has apologized to customers following concerns over unexpected debit transactions that have affected some account holders in recent weeks.
The bank says it recognizes the frustration and inconvenience experienced by customers after unusual debits appeared in their accounts, with some accounts reflecting negative balances.
The issue gained widespread attention on social media, where customers reported missing funds and questioned transactions they said they could not recall authorizing. Others expressed concern that the incident had undermined their confidence in the bank.
In a statement, FNB explained that the debits stem from delays in processing transactions made between October 2025 and May 2026. The bank says those outstanding transactions are only now being processed as part of an industry-wide reconciliation exercise.
