Wool and mohair farmers have welcomed the return of broker Stone Shi, saying the reopening of the Lesotho Wool Centre at Thaba Bosiu could restore access to a market that previously gave them better returns.
Shi has started paying about 11 million Maloti owed to farmers from the 2019/20 wool season.
The first payment of 1.07 million Maloti went to Luma Shearing Shed in Mafeteng, with Shi committing to settle the outstanding debt by September 29.
