Eswatini’s proposed economic empowerment regulations would reserve retail businesses with annual turnover below E8 million for targeted emaSwati-owned companies.
Times of Eswatini reports that the framework covers a wide range of everyday businesses including grocery shops, pharmacies, hardware outlets, automotive spares, liquor outlets, laundries, agricultural-input stores and convenience shops. The measures form part of regulations under the Citizens Economic Empowerment Act.
