Electricidade de Moçambique (EDM) scheduled electricity interruptions across parts of Maputo city and Gaza province on Sunday as crews carried out preventive maintenance on the power network.
In Maputo, affected areas included Central B, parts of Alto Maé A and B, Triunfo, Polana Caniço B, Ferroviário, Hulene A and B and sections of several other neighbourhoods. In Gaza, the utility listed Chibuto, Manjacaze and Chongoene among the districts affected.
EDM said the maintenance is intended to improve the safety and reliability of electricity infrastructure and advised customers to treat installations as live even during the interruption periods.
The company apologised to consumers for the disruption caused by the planned work.
