Nigeria’s Dangote Petroleum Refinery has opened a major public share offer aimed at bringing millions of ordinary investors into one of Africa’s largest industrial businesses.
The offer is expected to raise about $1.6 billion and will help finance plans to expand the refinery’s processing capacity. Dangote has positioned the listing as an opportunity for retail investors as well as institutions, with a relatively low minimum subscription intended to widen participation. The Lagos refinery began operations in 2024 and has become a major supplier of refined fuel to African and international markets.
