The Crown says Basotho National Party leader Machesetsa Mofomobe has a case to answer in the five-billion-Maloti Khubetsoana drug case, citing what it describes as overwhelming evidence linking him to the alleged offences.
Senior Crown Counsel Advocate Keketso Motiki says Mofomobe’s prosecution was based on evidence gathered during investigations into an alleged drug laboratory at Khubetsoana, Lifariking.
Mofomobe is challenging his joinder as the sixth accused, while his co-accused are also seeking to have the charges against them withdrawn.
