Chiefs’ Association Withdraws from today’s March

The Chiefs’ Association has announced that it will not be participating in today’s march against the government.
Earlier, the Association had indicated in a letter that it would join other civil society organizations in the march to express its grievances. However, in a new letter issued on Thursday, the chiefs stated that they have opted instead to engage in dialogue with the Prime Minister, expressing confidence that their concerns will be heard.
Leloko Mohalenyane, representing the Chiefs’ Association, said the chiefs support dialogue as a means of resolving their issues, adding that the Prime Minister has already opened a platform for engagement.
He emphasized that the chiefs believe constructive discussions with the government will yield solutions more effectively than participating in a public march.
